FAQ

Here are a few of our most frequently asked questions.

    • 2 outdoor yoga classes

    • A delicious, nourishing lunch and lots of snacks

    • Optional afternoon activities: make your own tea blend bar, yummy snacks, special group workshop

  • Prices do not include transportation to/from Lodge at Marconi, incidentals, accommodations if you choose to spend the night, or additional paid activities.

  • Our home base for the day is the Lodge at Marconi in Tomales Bay, CA, though we’ll have plenty of time to explore the trails at Marconi State Park.

  • Because of the upfront costs involved in planning a retreat, all bookings are non-refundable. I completely understand that no one signs up with the intention of canceling, and sometimes life happens, so if you're no longer able to attend, you're welcome to transfer your spot to someone else.

If you cancel with enough notice, I’ll do my best to fill your spot. If someone takes your place, I’m happy to issue a refund (minus a small booking/processing fee). However, if we’re unable to fill your spot, you will remain responsible for the full payment.

In the unlikely event that I need to cancel the retreat, you will receive a full refund.

  • During intake, we will ask folks if they are interested in carpooling (either offering a ride, or finding a ride). While we cannot guarantee that someone will be able to give you a ride, we will connect you with anyone else who is open to/interested in carpooling.

  • The morning practice will be a creative vinyasa flow; expect a blend of heat-building asana woven with movements inspired by dance, functional neurology, and trauma-informed yoga. You'll explore familiar shapes in new ways, shifting between different orientations (think lying down, standing, even balancing on your hands!) with plenty of options offered throughout so you can choose what feels best in your body.

The closing practice will be a slow flow into restorative shapes, with longer holds and a chill, stretchy vibe. This session may also include breathwork, gentle nerve mobilizations, and extended savasana to help you fully settle and integrate at the end of the day.

  • Beginners are absolutely welcome (and I often have folks in my classes who are brand new to the practice), though the classes are not geared specifically toward beginners.

I teach in a style that has lots of options throughout, so folks can choose between options that may be more athletic/advanced and options that are less so. Teaching through a trauma-informed lens, I celebrate folks making the choices that feel best in their bodies, so my classes will often have folks hopping into arm balances next to folks exploring non-balancing options. That said, I do love the energy of moving with a little more rigor and dynamism! In terms of the retreat setting, the morning class will be a more dynamic style, and the evening class will be mellower/stretchier. A retreat setting can be a lovely immersion for someone newer to the practice as there will be more opportunities to ask questions and receive individual attention!

  • We will send all registered attendees a questionnaire and will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions.

  • I will send out a packing list as the retreat approaches, but you’ll want to make sure to bring your yoga mat, sun protection (sunscreen, hat, sunglasses), lots of cozy layers, your favorite yoga wear, and shoes you’re comfortable wearing outdoors.
